Hello

Welcome

Not only does hiring a professional Toastmaster add a little more ‘gravitas’ to your special day, it also allows you to relax in the knowledge that all the details are safely taken care of. I’m not just the man in the red coat.

I will be your friendly personal assistant for the duration of your celebration. I work for the Bride and Groom and not for the venue. So will be your ‘single point of contact’ between you, your caterers, your photographer and any other service that are working for you on the day.

I'll ensure that all the minor details are taken care of, in a calm and efficient manner, so everything runs according to your plan. Everything from formally announcing the happy couples arrival at the wedding breakfast and introducing the speeches, to making sure that the Best Man has the rings!

Included in my cost is a pre-wedding visit. This is so we can meet face to face to discuss your personal needs and to go over every detail of your plan. I want to ensure that I get everything perfect for you on the day, so this is as much for my benefit as it is yours.

Big Ben provides 360 videos for Weddings and other functions. I thought I'd give it a try !

I can also offer the art of 'Sabrage' (the opening of a bottle of Champagne with a sword!) and the giving of a Loyal Toast. As seen here for the coronation of King Charles III

    Here's what do I do?

Liaising with caterers and photographer on the day.

I will be your central point of contact, so you will not need to worry

Checking everything is ready in place where and when they are required

Such as, table plan display, the favours, the cake knife, the place cards and even that the Best Man has remembered the rings!

    Bridal party escort

To escort the Bride and Father of the Bride from the car to the Wedding Venue door. To and from the Wedding Breakfast etc.

To escort the Bride and Groom, bride and grooms parents, to the top Table and assist them to their seats.

    Photographer assistant

Assist the photographer in calling for and arranging group shots etc. if required

    Meeting and Greeting

Meet and greet guests on arrival.  Directing them to the seating plan and assist them locating their tables. Organising groups and making sure they know where they are supposed to be at any given time.

    Announcements

Announcing the Bride and Grooms arrival at the Wedding Breakfast and arranging a receiving line.

Announcing the first Dance, the Cake Cutting, bouquet toss and to introduce the principal speeches.

I am also on hand to read speeches on behalf of anyone who has a touch of 'last minute nerves' or emotions.

    Saying Grace

I'll say ‘Grace’ or other suitable  pre-meal words, and to provide a ‘Loyal Toast’ if required.

    Time keeper and reminders

Remind guests to sign the ‘Guest Book’  etc

Help when the little things go wrong.

I'm there to be of assistance wherever possible. I even carry an emergency 'problem solving kit' of all those small things (spare cufflinks, safety pins, umbrellas, corkscrew, sewing kit, matches, wipes, pens etc.) that can literally save the moment!

    About Me

I was born and brought up within the London Borough of Bromley. Having attended Langley Park Grammar School for Boys, and following a few job changes, I finally settled for a career within the Metropolitan Police. A career that demands great communication skills and self confidence.  The police career took me though the next 30 years of my life which, eventually, lead me to specialising in police school involvement and youth engagement. This activity, and my dedication to it, resulted in my receiving the Queens Police Medal in the New Years honours list of 2018, my retirement year. This was presented by HRH Prince William The (then) Duke of Cambridge (now Prince of Wales) at Buckingham Palace.  Alongside a long police career, I also spent a brief four years as a reservist serving as a Lance Corporal within the Royal Military Police. Nowhere better to learn discipline and smartness.

Being only 55, full retirement was not an option for me, so for the next 5 years  I took employment within the Bromley Civic Centre appointed as the personal attendant to the Worshipful, The Mayor of the London Borough of Bromley.  As such, I performed Toastmaster and Master of Ceremony duties on regular occasions for the Mayor and at local council events. I had the great honour, during my time there, of being the Macebearer for the London Borough of Bromley too.  The presence of the Mace at any civic engagement  or ceremonial event within the borough, symbolises the authority of His Majesty the King.  As such, the Macebearer is required to know the manual of protocols  and procedures inside and out. Many of these are used for weddings and civil ceremonies. Rest assured, your event will be in safe and well practised hands.

Neill also provides wedding entertainment as a Sinatra style singer. If you are interested in this service, please visit his 'Quite Frankly Sings' website, by clicking on the link below.
